Castle Hotel and Leisure Centre has a continental-style café, a spacious bar and B's Restaurant, which has an AA Rosette. There is also the Ardilaun conference suite. The hotel offers free parking and reduced green fees on Macroom’s 18-hole course. Macroom offers guided walks around its town, and opportunities for coarse and game fishing.

The castle was built around 1446 on a solid limestone mound. Walk the grounds to see a druid circle made of stones, explore the witches stove, or enter Blarney's dungeon.
